This is Weirs Beach, located in Laconia (about 5 miles north of Lily Pond).
It is perhaps the best known beach in the Lakes Region. From mid-June until the end of August, the City provides a lifeguard to supervise the beach from 10 am until 5 pm. Swimmers are required to stay within the roped-off area (and boaters are required to stay outside the area and the adjacent beach).
Metered parking is available along the street and in the adjacent, Endicott Rock Park parking lot. If the lot is not attended, there is no parking fee. There are public restrooms at the beach. Launch to the left of the roped area, rather than off the point (there can be a strong current around the point into the boat channel).
A second launch site on Winnipesaukee is at Ellacoya State Park (it is about 6 miles East of Lily Pond).
Facing the lake, take the road to the right of the RV park directly to the water. During the summer season, the State charges a nominal fee to park, but you can unload and park close to the water. There are public restrooms near the water. Click on the link below to see more.
Currently our lessons are at Lily Pond.
Click on the link below to learn more about the pond. The pond warms up quicker than the big lake so generally we reach the 65 F threshhold weeks earlier than the big lake in the spring.
The above site information is for the west side of Winnipesaukee. See the east side in real time by clicking Wolfeboro.
